Introduction to the Department of International Education

Established in 2001, the Department of International Education is one of the earliest departments at the college. It currently offers three majors: Applied Korean, Business English, and Business Japanese. Aligned with the institutional ethos of "integrating industry, academia, and research; workplace-oriented education; international collaboration; and modern governance," the department emphasizes "business + foreign languages, skills + competencies" in its talent development model, aiming to cultivate versatile, high-skilled professionals for the international business arena.

The department boasts a dynamic teaching team of "dual-qualified" instructors, blending Chinese and international educators, including several foreign faculty members. Seven of these educators have been honored with Shandong Province's "Teaching Award" for cultural and educational experts or the "Yuandu Friendship Award" for foreign experts. Graduates consistently achieve an initial employment rate of over 98%, with high rates of job relevance and quality placements.

In its global engagements, the department focuses on "exporting education services" and "importing high-quality education resources," fostering long-term partnerships with 162 institutions across 24 countries spanning five continents. Collaborating with "overseas-expanding" enterprises such as Lutai Textile, China Nonferrous Metals, and Haomai Group, the department has jointly established five overseas "Ban-Mo Academies," one overseas training center, one international industry-education integration training center, and one international college. It has developed and exported 10 educational standards, 43 curriculum standards, and 16 "Chinese + Vocational Skills" international courses.

Approved projects include seven Ministry of Education initiatives under the "Chinese Bridge" and "Chinese + Vocational Skills" textbook programs, one "Friendship College" project, five Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, and one "Future Africa—China-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Program." Over the years, the department has dispatched more than 10 key faculty members to teach at overseas institutions and enrolled over 3,000 international students from 21 countries.
