Recently, in the "China Vocational Education Quality Annual Report (2023)" released by the China Academy of Educational Sciences, the college was awarded the title of International Cooperation Excellence in Higher Vocational Education for its outstanding practices and innovative achievements in the field of vocational education internationalization.
This honor is based on the data collection platform of China's annual report on vocational education quality, using factor analysis to determine the weight of indicators and evaluate the overall international cooperation of higher vocational schools. It covers five dimensions and 13 indicators, including receiving foreign teachers and students, Sino-foreign cooperative education, exporting vocational education standards/resources/equipment, overseas education, and teachers "moving global." The top 10% of schools in the comprehensive ranking receive this honor. This achievement highlights the college's leading role in serving the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening international industry-education integration.
In recent years, the college has actively responded to the Belt and Road Initiative, implemented the internationalization goals of the first Party Congress, and focused on serving the major-country diplomacy strategy and international capacity enhancement. It has concentrated on three main lines: introducing high-quality resources, promoting the export of competitive production capacity, and further enhancing international brand recognition. The college has established a three-level linkage mechanism of "university-functional departments-specialties" to promote the integration of government, industry, enterprises, and academia, continuously advancing the international brand building project. It has launched five Sino-foreign cooperative education programs with institutions such as the University of Applied Sciences North Hesse in Germany and the University of Northampton in the UK, and established the East Africa (Uganda) International College, the Indonesia Luban·Mozi Academy (China Nonferrous Metals), the Vietnam Luban·Mozi Academy(LuTai), and the Goertek Vietnam Training Center of Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology. The college has innovatively developed long-term and short-term "language + major" and "language + skills" training models for international students, having received over 3,000 international students to date. It has also established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with 162 institutions in 24 countries and regions.
In the future, the college will continue to adhere to the principle of teaching following production and industry-education collaboration, leveraging its strong disciplines to deepen international industry-education integration, promote international industrial capacity cooperation, support Chinese enterprises in "moving global", provide human resource support for the "Belt and Road" initiative and international industrial capacity cooperation, and make greater contributions to serving local economic development.
