On April 24, the college's third International Cultural Festival was grandly inaugurated by Longxing Lake. Xu Xiaoyan, Vice President and member of the Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Representatives from the International Education Department, Textile and Garment Department, and Mechanical Engineering Department, along with all international students and some domestic students, participated in this multicultural campus event.
In her address, Xu Xiaoyan outlined the school's international exchange initiatives, highlighting their vital role in talent development. She expressed her hope that the International Culture Festival would enable faculty and students to immerse themselves in the richness of diverse cultures, fostering friendships through interaction, mutual learning, and collective growth—collectively writing a new chapter in the school's internationalization journey.
At the event, the International Education Department held an awards ceremony for outstanding international students. Bushan, a representative from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the school's nurturing with fluent Chinese. Students from diverse countries presented a vibrant array of performances, featuring graceful ethnic dances, dynamic African drumming, rhythmic recitations of the Analects of Confucius, and international food showcases. The event vividly demonstrated the charm of cultural exchange and integration, highlighting the school's open and inclusive multicultural environment.
The International Cultural Festival consists of three phases: the opening ceremony, the Southeast Asian Cultural Exchange Month, and the African Cultural Exchange Month. The festival activities will enrich overseas students' campus cultural life, provide a platform for them to understand and embrace multiculturalism, foster a diverse, harmonious, and open international campus culture, and enhance their cross-cultural communication skills and global perspective.
