On November 1, the Second HarmonyOS End-Cloud Intelligent Application Development Competition (Zone 2) of the 2025 Belt and Road Initiative & BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition kicked off at Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology.
Co-organized by the Chinese Council of BRICS Business Council and the Belt and Road Initiative & BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, among others, and hosted by Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology, the event attracted 45 competing teams from undergraduate and vocational colleges across provinces (autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government).
The school attached great importance to this competition, with all departments working in close collaboration to provide participating teams with a favorable competitive environment and comprehensive, high-standard support. The event served as a thorough test and opportunity for enhancement of participants’ professional skills, innovative thinking, and teamwork capabilities, showcasing the technical proficiency and potential of teachers and students from all competing teams in the cutting-edge field of HarmonyOS End-Cloud Intelligent Application Development.
Aligned with China’s strategic emerging industry development plan, the competition fostered deep integration with advanced industry technologies, helping students broaden their horizons and laying a solid foundation for their future careers.
The successful hosting of this event exemplified the practical implementation of deepening industry-education integration and advancing the principle of "promoting teaching, learning, and reform through competition." It provided students from various institutions with a valuable platform to demonstrate their technical expertise and uphold the spirit of craftsmanship, effectively igniting their enthusiasm for domestic operating systems and cutting-edge information technologies.
Simultaneously, the competition established a crucial exchange platform for faculty across institutions. By benchmarking against the latest industry standards and technical specifications, it spurred updates in professional teaching content and reforms in educational models, cultivating more highly skilled talents in HarmonyOS End-Cloud Intelligent Application Development and related fields.
