On the morning of October 13, the progress meeting for the China-Vietnam Vocational Skills Workshop International Cooperation Project was held at the Siemens Auditorium in the Industrial Center of the school. Attendees included Chen Xiaoming, Chief Researcher at the Mechanical Industry Education Development Center; Dai Yuwei, President of the Tianjin Higher Education Research Institute; Wang Zhiqiang, Deputy Director of the Mechanical Industry Education Development Center; Zhang Haibo, Chief Representative of the International Chinese Teachers Association; and Zheng Deqian, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school. Representatives from member units of the alliance and a delegation of teachers from Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade in Vietnam were also present. The meeting was chaired by Xu Xiaoyan, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the school.
Mr. Zheng Deqian delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizing institution. He extended a warm welcome to the attending leaders, experts, and Vietnamese guests, while briefly introducing the school’s efforts and achievements in promoting international exchanges and cooperation, serving regional economic development, as well as outlining future plans for international engagement. He emphasized the school’s strong commitment to the China-Vietnam Vocational Skills Workshop project, pledging full support for its implementation and expressing anticipation for fruitful outcomes through collaboration.
Subsequently, Chen Xiaoming emphasized the importance of strengthening international integration between industry and education and promoting the "going global" initiative of vocational education standards amid globalization. He expressed hope that the China-Vietnam Vocational Skills Workshop project would become a model for vocational education collaboration between China and Vietnam.
Zhang Haibo, aligning with the development trends of international Chinese language education, elaborated on the unique value of the "Chinese + Vocational Skills" model in fostering people-to-people exchanges and economic cooperation between China and other countries. He stated that the association would actively support the project, contributing to cultivating international talents who possess advanced professional skills and maintain a friendly understanding of China.
During the thematic report session, Dai Yuwei delivered a presentation titled "Standards, Quality Enhancement, Empowerment—Rethinking Version 2.0 of 'Vocational Education Going Global.'" He systematically outlined the internationalization journey of China's vocational education, conducted an in-depth analysis of the new landscape and challenges currently facing "Vocational Education Going Global," and offered forward-looking and constructive insights on upgrading to Version 2.0—transitioning from "going out" to "embedding in" and shifting from scale expansion to quality enhancement.
During the meeting, the attending leaders and experts also conducted in-depth and thorough discussions on the "Charter of the China-Vietnam Vocational Skills Workshop Education Alliance (Draft)." After comprehensive deliberation, they clarified the alliance's mission, organizational structure, members' rights and obligations, as well as operational mechanisms, laying a solid institutional foundation for the standardized operation and sustainable development of the alliance. This marks a crucial step forward in the institutionalized cooperation between China and Vietnam in the field of vocational skills training.
The successful convening of this work promotion conference not only summarized the preliminary work of the China-Vietnam Vocational Skills Workshop project and clarified the direction and priorities of the next phase of cooperation but also strengthened the collaborative framework and consolidated development consensus through the alliance charter. All participating parties unanimously agreed to seize this opportunity to continuously deepen the integrated development of "Chinese language + vocational skills," jointly create a new high ground for China-Vietnam vocational education cooperation, and contribute vocational education strength to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
