On August 19, 2024, the opening ceremony of the 17th Shandong Taiwan Vocational Education Exchange and Cooperation Conference and the Cross Strait Vocational College Skills Competition, guided by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government, and the Weifang Municipal People's Government, hosted by the Weifang Education Bureau and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Weifang Municipal People's Government, and organized by Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology, was held at the Oriental Hotel in Weifang. The conference was themed "Empowering New Quality with Digital Vocational Education" and aimed to further promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the field of vocational education across the Taiwan Strait, and promote high-quality development of vocational education on both sides.
At this conference, the unveiling ceremony of the Cross Strait (Shandong Taiwan) Pet Fashion Design Vocational Skills Assessment and Talent Training Base and the Cross Strait (Shandong Taiwan) Integrated Circuit Innovation Talent&Teacher Training Base were also held, marking a new height in the exchange and cooperation of vocational education between Shandong and Taiwan. Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology and Taiwan Bakli Pet Beautician Club, using the Shandong Taiwan Vocational Education Exchange and Cooperation Conference as a platform, will leverage their respective professional strengths and industrial advantages to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of Pet Fashion Design between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. They will jointly establish a "Cross Strait (Shandong Taiwan) Pet Fashion Design Vocational Skills Assessment and Talent Training Base" to promote the standardization and internationalization of vocational skills in this field.
This event is rich in content and diverse in form, providing a bridge for teachers and students from Shandong and Taiwan to exchange skills, enhance understanding, deepen friendship, and seek common development. The Shandong Taiwan Vocational Education Exchange and Cooperation Conference has been held continuously for 17 years. Shandong and Taiwan have a deep foundation and extensive space for cooperation in the field of vocational education. The two sides have complementary advantages in the integration of industry and education, curriculum design, and construction of practical training bases, and have strengthened resource sharing and experience mutual learning. Shandong Taiwan vocational education exchange and cooperation have achieved fruitful results.
