On the afternoon of September 2, a delegation of 11 members, led by Mr. Hounkpè Noni Lègnon, Academic Affairs Director of Benin Business and Management School, visited our university for exchanges. University leaders including Xu Xiaoying met with the visitors and presided over the forum. Lu Jie, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Weifang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Cong Feifei, Section Chief of the External Liaison Section of Weifang Municipal Friendship Association, attended the meeting.
Xu Xiaoying extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She introduced the university’s school-running strength, disciplinary layout and achievements in internationalized education. She noted that the university actively responds to the Belt and Road Initiative and participates in the China-Africa vocational education cooperation plan for future Africa. The two universities’ 1+2+1 joint talent training program has achieved tangible results. She expressed the hope that both sides could take this visit as an opportunity to continuously improve talent training programs, share teaching resources, deepen exchanges between teachers and students, jointly meet the talent demands of Chinese enterprises in Africa, and cultivate high-quality technical and skilled personnel.
Lu Jie welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office. She introduced the office’s functions of coordinating the city’s foreign affairs, serving the city’s external opening-up and building bridges for school-enterprise overseas cooperation. She pointed out that this visit serves as an important opportunity for China-Africa local people-to-people exchanges. The Foreign Affairs Office will leverage its platform advantages and provide service support to facilitate the implementation of talent training and joint projects between the two universities.
Hounkpè Noni Lègnon expressed gratitude for the university’s warm reception and fully recognized its strengths in vocational education. He briefed attendees on the progress of the 1+2+1 joint training program between the two institutions, and hoped to further carry out cooperation in curriculum co-development, faculty exchanges, and skills training, to deliver high-quality technical talents for local Beninese communities and Chinese enterprises operating in Benin.
At the meeting, persons in charge of the Intelligent Manufacturing Department and Information Engineering Department introduced the construction of relevant majors. Participants held in-depth discussions on revising talent training programs, talent supply services for Chinese enterprises in Africa, co-construction of teaching resources, and mutual visits and exchanges of teachers and students.
During the visit, the delegation toured the national-level production-oriented training base for clothing and apparel majors and the Shandong Provincial Public Training Base for Intelligent Manufacturing, and inspected the practical training and teaching facilities on site.
Relevant persons in charge from the Intelligent Manufacturing Department, Information Engineering Department, Art and Design Department, and the International Exchange and Cooperation Department took part in the event.
